Not all folks who suffer from hearing loss can benefit from a hearing aid, but such a device can greatly improve the recognition of speech and sounds for those who can benefit.
A BTE (Behind The Ear) hearing aid is worn behind and over the ear. The aid contains one or more microphones that pick up sound, which is then amplified and channeled through a tube/wire into an earpiece inserted into the ear.
If you have hearing loss and depend on a BTE hearing aid, just leave a note with your order telling us your story (can be one sentence), and we will put one in your order for free - there is no need to add the item to your cart. We can only do this for existing or new Smart Doll customers, and we can only supply one set per household for now.
Designed by our Alan, the BTE Hearing aid for Smart Doll is 3D printed, finished, and assembled in-house. The BTE is a delicate item, so try not to tug on the components or it will break.
The hearing aid is attached to the head using the supplied blu-tac but there is a possibility of the blu-tac leaving a mark on the vinyl if left attached for prolonged periods of time.
Depending on when you receive the item, the unit may be packaged differently from the photos.
We realize that not all BTE devices look like this, but I think the design is a good middle ground without the need to drill a hole in the dolls head ;-)
Please remember - no need to buy this item if you depend on a BTE - let us provide it for free in your order if you rely on this device.
