Smart Doll shoes are made the same way human shoes are made - this is because I knew of no other way to make shoes apart from the way my dad taught me.
The conventional designs of Smart Doll footwear have been limited to traditional shoe-making methods, however, I really wanted to make something different and knew this could only be done with non-traditional shoe making technology.
A fusion of organic and mecha design - our new line of Bio Mecha footwear results from many (maaany) moons of experimenting with non-conventional shoe making techniques - 3D printing and vinyl casting - you can see just some of the prototypes we made in a couple of the photos below.
The deep heel socket was designed mainly for future-proofing purposes. You can pull off the plug from a Clickety-Click stand and plug it into the socket for slightly more balance or aesthetics.
However, this socket posed problems during casting, which is why we end up with a high failure rate that can't be sold as products. As such, Both Bio Mecha 1 and 2 will probably be the last with the deep heel socket design.
The deep heel socket may be used to attach the boots to hoverboards or vehicles in the future - or you can start to make your own 3D wot not to plug in.
The Bio Mecha 1 boots are chunky, slightly taller, and have a sharper toe shape than Bio Mecha 2. If your Smart Doll kicks you wearing Bio Mecha 2, it will probably hurt more.
As part of the aesthetic, Boot Cuffs are recommended, but if you don't have any, you can make your own with torn rags or even a lace around the ankles, as you can see from some of the photos.
